I have a pup with a crook tail. he has a slight bend near the end , hardly noticable it was not always there, prob from otheer pups pulling on it and tugging it. does anyone have experiance with this and is there anything that can be done? also can I show this pup with a tail like that?like I said its hardly noticable I found it while I was giving the pup a bath. thank you for your comments.

Sounds like the tail is broke...

The crook could be genetic or it could have been caused by an injury, possibly the mother stepping on it. You can not be sure how it will develop. It will be a fault, but remember, many dogs have minor faults of one sort or another. Whether this will be one that is more than minor you can not know until the pup is older. And there are many more things to worry about that are much more important as to whether the pup can be shown or not. Doing anything definitive, such as surgery, to correct, is unnecessary and would be disqualifying anyway. Just watch it. You do not say how old the pups are, but I wonder why you are bathing them???? That could be very risky and in any case, removes necessary oil they need for healthy skin.
