Does anyone know any reliable compaies that I can contact to ship dogs out of Amsterdam to the USA? Are there any requirements/paper-works that I need to take note of? Thanks!

Use Gradlyn. They will take the dog in Amsterdam to Frankfurt probably for shipment to the U.S. Gradlyn is the best agency. Contact me privately if you need help. schwarzenberggsd@earthlink.net

You can also use DTC out of Amsterdam, last time I used them, they were less than gradlyn. email is info@dtciat.com, phone is 020-6531776

Unfortunately, using Gradlyns to pick up dogs in Belgium or the Netherlands ends up costing as much as the shipping from Frankfort to the US!!!!!

I brought a puppy in from The Netherlands about 4 or 5 months ago and she came in through DTC and between the crate and transportation it was $800.00...it's getting expensive anywhere you fly these days...

My puppy was transported privately from Belgium to Frankfurt and then on to the US using Gradlyns. The day my pup was to fly to US, there was a problem with the temperature control in the cargo area, and Gradlyn's would not put the puppy on under those conditions. Would have be death for my puppy. Instead they held off a day to make sure the problem was fixed and my puppy was able to fly the next day safely. Marsha Seck

If the pup is in HOlland use DTC unless the pup is near the German border and closer to Frankfurt. From the Dutch border its 2 hours to Frankfurt. There is a third transporting agency at the Frankfurt airport, called PETAIR.DE I've used all three without problems. If you buy more than one adult dog, fly there yourself to pick them up, it's less expensive and you are in charge.

I used Gradlyn for my Adult Male, very happy with the service and they took care of everything, even an overnight stay in Toronto. Dog came clean and dry and very happy. I highly recommend them.

Shipping does become expensive. Back in August I had an adult male shipped from Denmark. The person I purchased the dog from drove the dog to the German border and was picked by the folks at Petair. There was an overnight boarding for the dog. The dog shipped out the next day and arrived without incident. The total shipping including ground transport and overnight stay came to almost 1,000 US. I also had a puppy come in from Frankfurt and it cost about 680 US. The shipping was close to the cost of the puppy. As suggested If you have the time take a long weekend and go pick them up yourself. Kyle
