I'm a new owner of a two years old female just coming out of season. I'm wondering are there any tell tales signs of whether afemale is pregnant?? Does she typically lose weight during the time that is in season?? Gain weight after she comes out of season?? Should her nipples be protruding??

You probably won¿t notice anything until about 5 weeks, though she might go off her food for a few days at around 3-4 weeks after breeding.

When a bitch comes into heat her nipples sometimes will get a little swollen. I have never experienced weight lose in a bred bitch. When its time to eat.... they eat. Although every bitch is a little different. And I suppose they can experience "morning sickness" Can't really tell if it took till the last couple of weeks. Then she looks like she swallowed a beachball! I did have one bitch that carried really high in the ribs.Since this is a newly aquired bitch , she may have other issues till she gets comfortable with her new home. Good Luck!
