This list is not correct for the years 1974 - 1977. During these years a VA group was selected and the dogs where placed in alphabetical order by kennelname, a Sieger title was not given. That's why for instance Herzog v Adeloga is mentioned als VA 1 in 1977, in reality the Dutch breed and Marco Cellerland son Eros vom Hambachtal was on the number 1 spot. So Herzog v Adeloga never was a VA 1 or Sieger, the same applies to Gundo v Klosterbogen and Arak vd Holledau. Dick Adeloga was Sieger in 1973 and was in the VA group of 1974.

To my mind the Auslese was placed by Kennelname already in 1972. And as I know it was for only 1 or 2 years. Adeloga starts with A and was VA 1 1973 but not in 1974 anymore.

Little Boy, thank you for your reaction. But the fact remains that Dick Adeloga was the last Sieger - in 1973 - before the period of 4 Years in which no Sieger title was given. I have noticed that on this forum al lot of very involved people are talking about the history of the GSD. And I think it is not always easy for them to have the correct information about the German Siegerschaus in the past and the placing of many famous dogs. In Holland where I live, many Authors have written very good books about the GSD, such as Dick M. Engel, Ruud Haak, H. v Asselt. I think books of Ruud Haak also have been translated into English. Since 1976 I went to almost every German Siegerschau as a competitor or visitor. So I was present back in 1978 when the Sieger title was reinstated and Canto Arminius became Sieger.
