Koos is planning a few seminars in the USA soon and I would like to know from those who have attended one of his seminars before what they got out of it and if it's worth attending? The seminar is suppose to cover all three phases any comments on his methods? Thanks!

SchHFan I can tell you first hand since our club is hosting one of the visits from Koos that he is very much considered "old school" in some of methology. He uses some motivational methods by all means but one thing you'd never see him using his clickers. To each his own but perhaps Koos just doesn't understand it well enough but I know this is one tool he doesn't use. The BIGGEST area I see most benefiting from with this seminar is the "C" (protection)phase. Koos and his helper Franz are very good in working with very strong dogs with more than average aggression and this seems to be his strong point from my experience. The seminar will cover all three phases with more emphasis on obedience and protection. The latter part of the evening after training, Koos will brief the class on some of his thoughts on breeding and bloodlines. This should be pretty interesting too. Especially those intrigued by his recent breedings and linebreedings.

Where is this seminar taking place and when?...Actually I just received an e-mail from him but it was about something else...If the seminar isn't too far away and at the right time maybe I'd like to attend...I am in Florida...

Bob I think he a club in the Carolinas is hosting a seminar with Koos. Our club is in Columbus, Ohio and we are having Koos here May 5-8 (Friday thru Sunday). There is plenty of training space and training field is very nice. I'm really looking forward to seeing some nice strong dogs in this seminar. Should be a blast! The weather should be nice and warm here in Ohio by then. Far from the 6 degree weather yesterday. LOL

Yes...I don't think I'd like your weather right now...yesterday and today it's almost 80/0 F here...perfect for training here...wait a month or so and it'll be 90/0+...in the shade...I would like to see Koos in a seminar...He invited me to his house but I wasn't able to go at the time...I had just had shoulder surgery...

Hey Tommy, This is Courtney, the girl who came to you club a couple of times back in january with Urman. I do intend on coming back and joining-I sent Lorenzo an email thanking him for inviting me and how much I enjoyed the club. I do hope to attend the Koos training seminar but at this time do know how my schedule will turn out. Getting Urman's OFA done today, cross fingers. Courtney
