I would like to know if anyone has comments about the dog, since he is the father to our dog. Nothing bad to be told :) just currious to hear others opinion about the dog.

I called the owner, who I understand is a SchH judge, to inquire about purchasing this dog. He said that the dog was just about to get his SchH title and breed survey (this was back a year or more ago... ) at an upcoming trial.. I said that a friend of mine would be in Germany at the time, but Mr. Streck said, 'no, the trial is not open to the public.. that is the way we do it in Germany.' I told him that in USA our trials are public, so I was not 'aware' that in Germany the trial would be 'closed to the public.' He called back a few days / weeks later (can't remember exactly) and said the dog was no longer for sale, that he was too important for Germany to go to another country... I have watched for Nero, but did not see him presented at the Sieger Show, and have not noticed any top placings at German Shows.. The whole thing made me a little suspicious...

So, according what Steel Magnolia is telling us, the owner told her something like: "the dog was too good to be sold ausland". I would like to know who is the owner to avoid any accidental dealing with him when I buy my next dog in Germany!!

The owner might not be interrestet in selling the dog to the USA, that might explain the answer to Steel Magnolia. Several dogs has been mated with Nero so there has to be more Progeny than here: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/progeny/389917.html
