I'm a member of e-SID from the SV. Today i've received a list with matings. By some bitches (before the names) is the word Mieter between "(" and ")". Does someone know what this means??

by Gertrude Besserwisser on 08 December 2005 - 19:12

It means tenant, or renter. Someone who is leasing the female or leasing her womb.

So, if I'm correct means this that the bitch will be bred under the kennelname of the renter. Example: Male A is mated with: 01/12: Bitch x (Mieter) Mr. Mister So the litter will have the name of the kennel of Mr. Mister.

Depends on the agreement that the two parties have between them. It does not automatically mean that the litter will have the kennel name of the mieter. It may well be that the mieter would like to use the kennel name of the female, especially if it is better known hence making the puppies more salable or expensive.
