I am curious about showing GSD's in countries other that the US and Germany. Is Schutzhund legal elsewhere and, if not, what titles are available and how are they earned? What about breed evaluations, hip and elbow clearances, DNA, etc? I've read a lot of information regarding what is expected here and in Germany, but nothing much about coutries like Oz, NZ, the UK, Ireland and so forth. Thanks for any response.

WUSV-World Union Fur Verein Fur Deustche Shaferhnde. If the country falls under the umbrella(rules/regulations of the WUSV) then the answer is yes. The WUSV is ultimatly goverened by the SV out of Germany

Hi Blitzen If you go to GSDWorld Forum you will fin information about Schutzhund and other titles available in a number of countries. http://www.gsdworld.net/ Here in Australia under State legislation that makes it illegal to teach a dog to bite a person it makes Schutzhund illegal. We do however, have people who wish to take up the Sport and are working towards that goal. Most Australians who show don't do any form of obedience titling with their dogs. Obedience people tend to compete in obedience trials similar to the AKC rules. Australia also has Breed Specific Legislation by individual states being held over the heads of owners and breeders of GSD's, Rotties, Dobes and other Schutzhund recognised breeds. Hoping this will assist you. Regards
