Can anyone give their thoughts on who the think the best male producers currently are? Obviously can be any dog you choose not necessarily a VA! It seems Esko has had good progeny and is still producing excellent prospects as well as others. ANY THOUGHTS YOU WANT TO SHARE ON THIS TOPIC? OPINIONS. HOW ABOUT THOUGHTS ON TOP SG RATED DOGS AT KARLSRUHE YOU THINK ARE A SURE BET OR POSSIBILITY AT MAKING VA IN ULM? Dan

Hi sportstuff. I also have a few questions in reference to future producers. Has anyone on this board read the message in the WDA newsletter on page 3 regarding NOTICE TO BREEDERS OF FOREIGN SIRED LITTERS WHELPED IN THE UNITED STATES? Does AKC cross reference DNA submitted on puppies back to the listed parents? How do you think that this will effect the use of studs from Europe?

I am not sure but I bet we can get an answer. As you know in addition with people with too much time on their hands there are several well informed people with answers. Let's hope someone can answer it as I have no idea. Dan

One of the names I like to see close up on a showline is Cello Von Der Roemerau. I have an excellent personal protection male with Cello in his 2nd gen ped. For working lines, I like to have Greif zum Lahntal bred to Busecker Schloss bitches like Mara, Gescha, and Pleuni. Sometimes the DDR lines are too Civil/Serious for sport but sometimes a little DDR improves the mix. Current top producers that I like are Yasko Farbenspiel and Triumph's Gucci who are both in the US, in Texas and Kansas. The AKC doesnt even require DNA, but requires an application called the Special Litter application that can be downloaded on line from their site at www.AKC.org If you like they will send you a submission form and a DNA collection cheek swab for their DNA Certification Program.

VA Vitus vom Haus-Farrenkopf SchH3, FH produced some excellent working abilities into his offsprings, including conformation wise.

DecoyD you may want to revisit the AKC site as it does require a DNA on any male that produces a certain amount of litters yearly/lifetime. And now that includes DNA submitted from European Stud dogs. And you are correct that they will send you a submission form and a DNA collection cheek swab but then you also must pay $35 prepaid or $45 for the regular kit. This will directly impact the breeding of stud dogs from Foreign Countries. Get a DNA swab or no will get litter registration.

It certainly appears that the progeny group of Esko has been very well received for the last several years...outstanding quality, esp.the females! Others who have made their mark are Wallace aus Agrigento,Baru von Haus Yu,Ulk von Arlett, Ursus von Batu, and of course Yasko! I believe that we will see this line perpetuated for years to come, JMOHO! Obviously there are many other fine producers out there(and we all have our personal preferences)but these are the dogs that come to my mind immediately that have been known to throw excellent offspring consistently time and time again......time will tell if their offspring prove to have the same 'staying power'.Just my two cents. CHEERS!
