I need some advice on how to go about importing pups from Germany.
I contact a Kennel owner. He sends me pics/ video clips of the pups vial e-mail. I decide which pup I will pick. He asks me to pay a booking amount upfront.
Subsequently, let me know what are the documents / papers and other things I will need to insist on before releasing the full payment prior to shipping the pup. If someone can run thru a list of things to be done prior to making full payment that will be great.

do you trust the breeder's honesty? that should be the first thing...
you should be able to pick up your pup at the airport together with health certificate and pedigree (pink papers) with it; you have to clear customs after presentation of the dog's health certificate (rabies immunization necessary) and then the pup is yours to take.
Pink papers are not necessary if you trust the breeder will register the litter and send you the pedigree eventually via mail; otherwise, there shouldn't be a problem for the dog to be shipped together with the pedigree,
