breeder alert Text I recently purchased a 3-year-old female GSD from the Vom Meyers Kennel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I informed the owner that I planned to breed and show the dog. He sold her to me with assurances that she was healthy. I noticed, immediately, that the dog was scratching excessively. Blood tests revealed that the dog has severe allergies and is, therefore, not breedable. When I contacted the breeder about this problem, he refused to do anything to help me. He went so far as to tell me that he would take the dog back in exchange for nothing--no money, no replacement puppy. His bitch is expecting a litter of pups at the end of April. Beware before you buy. THE ABOVE POST WAS IN THE NEWEST ADS SECTION.....I AM ONLY REPLYING TO IT. 1. What Allergies does she have? 2. Are they food related? If they are then this is an easy fix...it is very common for GSDs to have food allergies. I recommend Lifes Abundance from www.Healthypetnet.com/draggahausgsd 3. I talked to my vet about this and he said that Allergies are not gentic??? Heather

Allergies ARE genetic. Even if they can be helped easily. It is very common for SOME LINES of GSDs to have food allergies, but not for all GSDs in general. Sad but true...
