The pedigree certainly has sports dogs but there is a big warning light for me from the dams side some of the dogs have not been tested or they have but have not registered it on here so i would check it out first. Another thing is that it depends on the temperament of the parents and the pup if the dog is suitable for sports if the parents aren't good enough to do personal protection the chances are the pups aren't either. So find out the temperaments of both parents as well.

Thank you. By testing do you mean ipo? The dam is WDA PD1, PD2, and PSA PDC. What are some pros and cons from 3-4 linebreeding on Ellute von der mohnweise?

This is video of the sire Torr owned by Alabama canine

By testing i mean hip testing, full dentition etc... you shouldn't focus only on the titles of the dog focus more on their temperament this vid doesn't really show his full temperament what is the dog like when his normal and the same should be done to the dam. I don't know too much about line breeding on Ellute but the focus should first be on the dogs being bred to each other

several things

first, linebreeding on ellute, its not close at all but doubling up on ellute is not a problem, great dog, great producer, will be found in pedigree of many strong dogs

second, I personally sold Torr to Alabam K9, one of the very best producers for PP and policedogs, strong personally, honest dog, easy dog to be around with, bred many females in CZ without being famous in IPO, and produces good orthopedics overall

third, mothers pedigree is very good, many good dogs/lines with balanced dogs that are suitable for more than IGP alone, most policedogs are not officially Xrayed, but are healthtested more than AKC requirements alone, so I see no problems with the pedigree of that mother,

The video of Torr is what I am talking about in the thread on European breeders. The dog gets jacked up immediately and is not thinking and there is little control. There is no doubt the dog has the drive. It is almost that the videos are more for the ego of the helper than to show the proper training of the dog, which isn't there IMO. If StayCivil wants to compete in PSA, that type of training is the opposite of what you want. Maybe the purpose of the video was to show the dog's nerves and drive rather than actual training, nonetheless, you would never use that approach with a dog being trained in PSA, because the sport overemphasizes controlled aggression.

Torr is an IPO 3 and maybe 8 years when video was made, what training you want to put on an 8 year old IPO3 dog ??

I don't want to put any training on the dog. I was just making a point. IPO is a patterned sport and the dog does the exact same thing in a trial every time, so it is not much a test of control. I think part of the reason many IPO trainers get their dogs so jacked up is because he bark and hold is such a big part of the sport and they want that persistent rhythmic bark, which to me is not much of a measure of a job.
