Hans you competed at PSA nationals?? You train, handle and title this dog?

Dog name?

Nationals would have record on internet, link?

I am truly impressed.

Awesome, you trained and trialled him at this event and put all his titles on yourself?

He had some training from Czech which actually worked against me because he was a total sleeve dog and he needed to do inside bites on suit and that was a struggle with him. You know default on the forearm - was really ingrained.  Also his comes were slow since someone before me screwed that up And sit was on his hunches so we flunk on that one 2x . So there was a lot of fixing. and retraining for PSA . But I have trained him and titled him PSA myself . I have trained and titled other dog in PSA1. His name was Fox or they called him FOXI. I have actually traveled long ways to PA from AZ for that title. I love PSA and it is or was very hard sport where it was not shame not to get enough points in competition to get title. As matter of fact there were events where non got enough points in specific title. I do not know how it is now though.

As far as training him for PSA I did not prepare him in any specific way . He was just my demo dog and we were together 100% of the time or close to it. I went to a club 1x per week and screwed around a bit with him and then we trained pp on weekends. I just entered competitions with him or FOX basically with my dog and we did what we knew from every day life, demos and training pp and so on.
Anyway that was some time ago. My eyes are little moist thinking of Varo. Fox is demo dog on my video Czech commands for Czech dogs.

confused here, your posts seem to contradict.

You mean because I said , there was a lot of fixing and training for PSA and then I said I did not train much for PSA? Well I did a lot of fixing 1 x per week at a club and about 7 days before the trial. :) So all is relative.

Ok I may have summarized what you actually said but I didn't "misrepresent" what you said.

What Hans "actually" said: dogs which uses sport approach as a foundation for PP/LE training. IMO opinion it is a faulty approach because it establishes permanent default (setting) on equipment preference.

What I summarized: dogs with a sport foundation will always default to equipment preference

And no you didn't say rotten but rotten wasn't in quotes, you said "faulty"...I chose a word which better described your distain (after 23 pages of long posts).

So I apologize for "misquoting" but I did not misrepresent.

And the other post regarding equipment> I didn't say you don't use equipment at all (I saw your videos). I use equipment during foundation grip work no matter what direction is planned to go with the dog...which you consider "sport". Perhaps I didn't use enough words.

Glad to see you competed in PSA, I wasn't aware so I do apologize. Was Fox raised under your foundation system?

Who titled him original, Hans did?

GSDfan

Yes he did title Varo to PSA1 (not OT).  He said Varo came to him from Czech with training that he had to "fix".

Not sure about Fox.
