The Altdeutscher Schäferhund is a different type of animal. Like the Westerwalder Kuhund.
---> More info on the AS: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/bulletins_read/225377.html
Kuhhund / Kuhund... I've seen both spellings.
Insofar as coat type:
stock coat = midlength fur with UNDERCOAT
long STOCK coat = longhair with UNDERCOAT
long coat = longhair with NO undercoat... still a fault
mole/close coat = very short fur, almost always with very short undercoat... another fault.

It's my understanding the long coat is actually a DQ, but the long stock coat is coming back in.......I think?!?!??! If I'm right, then it shouldn't be confusing, just that an undercoat is a requirement? Now, wasn't there also something about LSC being brought back in as a seperate variety type of thing ? If that's the case, I don't get it, but that's not unusual!
