Just wanted to share one of my favorite GSD's, he is 10 years old here and still going strong. His owner is not very competition/title minded but I did manage to talk him into getting his PSA-PDC but the dog is capable of much more. He's put a few holes in me during training, very strong dog, extremely confident with an excellent temperament.

Did the owner do sport with this dog, maybe just training and not titling? The dog has great grips and is under very good control - looks like good sport foundation. ;)
Great work from decoy and dog - cannot tell he is a senior dog.
You is a craaaazy lady - I like the work! Too bad we don't live closer. :(

Thanks
@Koots, he was imported as a young adult from Slovakia (?) by a US broker and marketed to Police. He was purchased (with a moderate amt of training) by his current owner from them to be a PP dog. His owner first trained with a Police K9 training group/ certification org. who also accepted civilians. At about 4 years old he began to train with me. I introduced the dog to the bicep and legs, PSA work and advanced controlled aggression. The dog's work ethic is so strong he nails anything new.
The owner is not real interested in titles and competition, and lacks motivation to really screw down his obedience phase (in my hands this dog could go far in PSA). The handler was so accustomed to doing pet/police type obedience so getting him to train his dog to competitive standards would have required me to really stand on him (and kinda be a bitch) so since he wasnt motivated for it i didnt really push him.

Fair enough, not everyone in the sport (or other) world is looking at the podium. The owner is doing advanced work with his dog and it shows. Good for them. I just really like his grips, tenacity and the control work. Amazing that for all the control work, the dog is still "on fire" .

You're right, Gigante, I hadn't even looked at the ped - it's very nice, lots of very good dogs. Not surprising the quality of work within that context of genetics, for sure.

Made me think about..."What makes a Decoy/Helper a GOOD Decoy/Helper"...
Well to me it's a couple of things:
* Must have experience and understanding of dogs...
*One that doesn't really get noticed...but the dog does...
