Scientist discover an ancient disease and claim scientific breakthrough ??? - Page 1

The Zika virus is not new nor is it new to the Americas or the USA. The fact that science has "discovered" an ancient virus and gave it a shiny new name and are all in a tizzy to save us from something we have collectively survived through for decades and likely centuries does not make Zika the next Spanish Flu or even the next Lyme. Zika is a much less dangerous pathogen than the Lyme and other tick borne disease that were "discovered" in 1981 and were found in the body of a 15,000 year old frozen ice mummy. Einstein explained the speed of light but he did not discover it .. it was always there to be discovered. Zika is a member of a family of viruses that while disease causing .. mankind and other animals have lived with for centuries.

Give the scientist who took hundreds of years to name Zika about 10 more and they will "find" it in dogs and other animals. Lyme has been around in humans for 15,000 years but in 1981 it was discovered. The scientist discovered Zika and Lyme like Columbus discovered America.

Agreed! It is a discovery. Same type of hysteria will happen as with The West Nile virus invasion. More poisons in our waters.
