We thought she´d never walk again...

Thanks for that Suzie, hope does spring eternal and we are hoping for a good outcome. My great-grandmother (on my father's side) broke her hip when she was in her late 80s, made a full recovery and lived to 96, so I won't give up! That said, it will still be a long recovery and my father can't be left alone, so there's that hanging there. It would be a real shame for him to end up in a home due to her health, even if she does well and makes a full recovery. It's just complicated all the way around. Anyway, she is out of surgery and in recovery and everything went well, so now it's logistics and figuring out where we go from here. I'll update as I get news, thank you for your kind thoughts, hope and well wishes.

Mom is still in a lot of pain and they haven't yet been able to get her on her feet. Hoping she's able to get up before the end of the day, it's important to get her up to prevent pneumonia setting in, which the real worry. The surgery itself was successful, just hoping she has strength and will now. Hopeful.
