I just wanted to post a few pictures from my girl Djanga and I training for the BH the other day. She's come along this far in a matter of six 15 minute sessions. Proud of my girl.

Vk, ----training---- its what everyone who put a BH on their dog has to do. You can get the obedience from your dog to not break a down while another non-threatening dog and handler do obedience. And tying the dog to a post while a team walks past is no problem in a neutral place. I teach my pups to wait patiently while tied, from the time they are little pups. While I'm fixing feed for the horses, I tie them and let them watch, waiting patiently till I walkover calmly and release them. Things like that, so in case of need, they will wait quietly while tied.

Thanks guys. And no, I'm really not that worried about the long down or the tie out stay. She does fine with both. I had previously trained her in AKC Obedience thinking that I wanted to do that instead. I had a change of heart and so really all I needed to work on with her was her focused heeling. She is continuing to do well with it. I guess I'm just surprised that she has caught on so quickly. We started out with just the basic position with high value food reward and then just the 6th session I moved to using a ball reward.
It started out not really a formal training session. I was just playing ball with her and we were finished and I picked the ball up and carried it back to the house and Djanga just automatically moved into the fuss position, so I rewarded her with the ball then the next time I did it I added in the fuss command. You just gotta love when the dog's mind just clicks and they get it right :)
Next we will be working on the sit out of motion, which I'm sure she will do fine at, but I'm unsure what command to use. Do you guys just say "sitz" or do you have a different command for the sit out of motion?

Which 'someone' d'you mean, Bob ? The Shortstop prowling around
Photo 4, or the other GSD whose legs are top left corner of pic 3 ?
To the OP - great progress, nice attention. How old is Djanga ?
