AVAILABLE NOW! German Shepherd mom and 4-3mth old puppies! Puppies look PB! A female German Shepherd was surrendered to the shelter today with her 4 3mth old babies: 1 female and 3 male. The owner said they were pure bred and had to give them up due to landlord issues. Of course, the shelter can't attest to that because we don't know for sure who the dad is. They can only go on what the owner said. If you are interested in any of these gorgeous babies or mom, please call 903-297-2170 or go to 303 Enterprise St today by 5:30. Valerie's email is relocation@hsntx.org.

It's called 'showing the kids the miracle of life'!  Roll eyes

What the don't do is take the kids to the shelter afterwards so they can watch Mom being PTS!  Angry Smile

I could possibly foster for a week to 10 days if someone will take mom.

wish we could take her but Julie has another surgery on Aug 29th :( The car accident she was in left Julie with damage that needed to be taken care of. This is her third surgery :(

I'd almost bet the rescues took the pups, and left the mother. Very sad..

When I worked for animal control, we had a lot of "rescues " that would only take pups, or young purebreds.. The dogs that would normally be adopted anyway.. I fostered a purebred GSD puppy, who was put down as a mix because he was eaten up by sever mange, and  the in taking officer didn't take the time to really look him over. Well I had him treated and fixed, when I brought him back to the shelter to be adopted, the same rescue who by passed him up,  tried to take him, as he was obviously a pure bred, pretty sable when his coat grew in and his ears came up.. Hopefully someone will adopt her soon, as with the experiences I've had with GSDs who are in stressful dog pound settings, tend to go down hill fast, mentally and body condition wise.. Seems the smarter the breed of dog, the worse they do in a shelter :(  There are great rescues out there that do target the dogs that really need the extra help getting adopted, then there are the ones who like the easily flipped dogs..

I think those rescues should not be allowed to take just the puppies.
They are clearly in it for the money.
