Whats the story on these guys? How much would it be to get them out, or can they only be pulled by a rescue? I have a friend up here in Nebraska looking to rescue a GSD pup.

She would need to call the shelter and ask about their policy, provide references, etc. Each shelter is different.

That little one looks more like a sable Chihuahua mix!

Adorable puppies. Can't do much from IL, but may be able to spring for a little cash if it will help them get out. 

I would take them both IF SOMEONE WOULD HOLD THEM A FEW DAYS TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE HEALTHY. I have puppies here and don't want parvo here. If they are quarantined in a safe place for a few days, I'd be fine taking them and fostering them.

Jen, I thought they looked a bit Chihuahua-like as well...
