His impound number is 4498915- the original  impound number was incorrect. I am speaking with shelter now. His adoption fee is $80 with neuter, vaccs, microchip, etc

I know- I feigned a stomach attack for 45 minutes in the bathrom so DH woulndt know i was working on the dog while we are storm preparing. The shelter gave me the adoption area phone number and my friend Liz, who will pick up and foster will be calling them in a few minutes to tell them if he is not adopted to put a hold on him for her, not to euthanize. She may even pick him up sooner as she wants him out of the shelter. I am paying for his alter, but I am going to need help with his tranpsort if he has to be flown to Melissa. Is there someone who could get him from Bakersfield to the  LA airport for the plane ride if we have no other options? Please say yes, as i promised this to Liz.

They said he is the moast wonderful dog EVER! Great temperament, good with kids, good with other dsogs- they said he is a lover boy! He had an adoption but the people never showed. Gong to do some storm work now.. Will let you know what Liz says after she gets ahold of the adoption counselor.

I probably know a rescue puller who can get him out, get him toboarding  for a few days, but becasue this would be done on my reputation for not failing to transport in a timely manner, I would need a FIRM commitment with some donations up front. I do NOT have anyplace to put this dog here at the prune ranch, but I "might" be able to get someone down south to transport to a flight out of Orange County. (Like maybe Olga?)  Cost for shipment probably $500-600. (maybe $650?) incl. used crate and vet health cert.

UGH! Its a no go :( Liz called the shelter and spoke to the adoption counselor. He said the dog is agressive with men, so its a no go. (We dont know why the shelter said he is good with everyone...That wont work with a transport). He also has a respiratory infection and she has no place to isolate him- she is a breeder and has puppies :(  We are back to square one :( he would need someone local to the area. now I really have to prepare for the hurricane :(

Doesn't make much sense to me. He was pulled off the euth table, given a few extra days because he handed them his paw, and now he is deemed aggressive to men?
Indy was darned near dead with KC that rapidly turned into full-blown pneumonia. I gave my dogs the "squirt-in-the-mouth" bortadella vaccine 36 hrs. before she got here. Not one got sick with exposure to her, even though the Chee had never been vaccinated for bortadella  prior. Two weeks of Cipro and amoxicillin and Indy was as good as new.

It really doesn't make sense... would your friend be able to do an eval herself?

I am not sure I could get an eval done at Lancaster. Most of my connections are in Orange Co. LONG way. If they go to Lancaster its for a snatch and dash, no questions asked. Perhaps ask Olga?
