When his ears are at full attention, they look VERY German-shepherd like. They are actually a bit on the small side for a GSD, and not at all what you would expect from a lab mix!

I can't believe the ears are up and not down. There must not be very much lab in there. I just cannot see it.

It's all in how the genes get shuffled around. Another dog I know was a GSD cross. He, too, looked full GSD until you noticed the faint white sock on one foot. I don't remember what the other parent was...too many years have gone by. Might have been husky, though.

Wow, I would not have guessed lab.
My 1st GSD was a mix of GSD, lab, and maybe chow. Her ears stood straight up like a GSD. The only hint of chow was the black spotted toung (sp?) and some of her play manners (used a lot of side body to throw her weight around). The lab hint was her solid yellow color except for the face (maybe the black spotted toung too), webbing between the toes, and her absolute love for the water.

Just to say that I have known at least one other GSD x Lab who had his ears up.
[He was in no way miniature, though ! Bloody great big all-black, he was lovely.]
