Just keen to know whether India is ahead of Pakistan as regards GSDs or is it the other way round. I happened to see a pic of VA1 Pakistan, name of the dog cannot be disclosed. I feel that he is far below VA standards The fact that Pakistan has VA ranking shows that they may be ahead. I just wanted to know and thought that this board is the best means. Hope this does not spiral into a controversy Rgds Muskaan

What do you think it's going to spiral into? A fest of love? ROFLMAO

by suhailf on 20 February 2006 - 17:02

Hey Ahead or behind is not the question at hand. The most important thing is that if the dog have got a progney in Pakistan or India. A real progney for which a dog could be declared as a VA. On the contrary as far as Pakistan is concerned, there are examples when a dog lands in Pakistan on Feb 9th, attends the seiger show on 12th and become a Seiger: VA1. I am still wondering that what was in the mind of judge Margit and Mr. Imran Hussain who is the chief warden of this game in Pakistan. I think as far this kind of politics is concerned, Pakistan is way ahead of India in dirty dog game. If some one could come up with a better example to outthrow Pakistan and bring India one step ahead, I really look forward to listening to that.

well i cant really say who iz ahead and cant really say bout the dirty dog games but pakistan does and had some good dogs

by Alex Mathew on 20 February 2006 - 17:02

Every country has its share of politics. In India top dogs who were V rated in Germany (within top 25 V rated dogs) were cold shouldered. It is money and muscle that matters and not the quality of the dog and the progeny. Many top rated dogs in India will run away if a gunshot is fired a mile away. If this continues India can never breed good german shepherds. We will be left with Indian Shepherds

Terrific. That shows that we Pakistanis and Indian actually share the same origin. So things are almost the same across the border. I am happy to know that we are still the same people and seperation actually has failed to cause any significant effect.

I do not know the true intention of GSDmuskaan's posting (I don't want to)but I am delighted and thrilled to note that GSD people on either side of the border refuse to get drawn into a "dog fight" over India vs. Pakistan. Hats off to you!! I am also delighted to note the thoughts of guys like Alex Mathew, who feel that a true GSD should have courage and working ability or else the breed quality would decline. It would give me great pleasure to see the sport of Schutzhund or any other sport (French ring etc.,) introduced and flourish in the subcontinent and be a requirement for breeding good quality GSDs.There are people like me in the US and elsewhere who are willing to offer a helping hand, if considered necessary by any club there. Best wishes to you all.

We Indian's and pakistani's are definitely from the same origin and so any kind of seperation can't make any difference! I think both of us are in the same league as far as GSD's are concerned! They have their top rated GSD's while we have our own! So it's not a question of who's better. The only reason that India does not have a VA rating is that we don't have Breed Survey! Even some Bred in India and Bred in Pakistan dogs are worthy enough of competing at the German Sieger Show and we aren't far from that! Very soon the whole world will see our dogs walking the german rings! As we both have some really good dogs, we should get together and utilise each others Gene pools to get maximum potential out of our dogs! We can really make it big if we come together once again! Muskaan, it also depends on which Clubs results you actually read as Pakistan has 2 clubs running under one roof! The GSDCP's Sieger this year is V13(BSZS 2005) Zello vom arkanum! Have a look at him!

Annu Very well said. I appreciate the spirit of yours. Of course the hour has come when dogs from subcontinent are going to compete in Germany. Its gonna be a great moment for both the nations.

I don't understand why MR/MS muskaan want to compare something between these two countries. Write something good and let others enjoy reading it. For God sake please don't even write something like this and assume not to spiral into a controversy. If you want to compare the high standards compare it to Germany and breed the desired standards !!! Always think high and relish small pleasures.
