Does anyone know what kind of life a dog like Larus will have in China? Do they become part of the family or just a trophy? I'm sure it differs with each individual, but I don't know how the Chinese culture view shepherds the caliber of Larus (or other dogs for that matter). Any insight will be greatly appreciated!

It's ashame that the owners of Larus sold him in such way.. VA or not... Larus deserves to be LOVED and to be treated like a family.... not just some money maker. I do hope that he can have a home with family who will appreciate him.

How do you or anyone know that he is not loved! Assuming the price he would have cost, surely he is much appreciated, and most likely more than just a trophy. And if he is, being treated like one is probably better than most dogs life...

Money talks, and anyone with any ambition in the world of GSD would be interested in selling if the price is right. Dogs in china with a price like Larus probely will not be eaten. Good Luck to the chinese god dog however the germans will never let a chinese dog be VA. They have been buying for many years now and what have we seen. Some good dogs but there are many good dogs and GSD winners will be German

Larus was appreciated and love at his home in Germany. He had his own room in the basement with his padded bench that HE laid on. His walls was adorned with his life's accomplishments. His family doted on him every minute, and he love it. There was even a cappicino machine there for coffee. I am sure after a couple months that trust and loyalty will have transfered to his new owners. He is a resiliant German Shepherd, not a child that was kidnapped from his home in the dark of night. I too wish he had stayed in Germany, but that is a decision that is made by the owner.
