Wanted to let everyone know the status of the dogs - as of today, 2 have been put down.  They are giving Natasha, the 4 year old, another week to find a home. Seems that she is starting to repond positively to her handler, but is still considered "unpredictable".  I understand that there are some folks that are trying to make things happen. Keep going! They gave her a little more time!!!!

Its very sad, but perhaps the kindest thing to do in this case. Try to think of them all together at the Bridge, reunited after only a brief separation.
I don't have any dogs that I would worry about adjusting to a new situation now, but had I died when Onyx was alive in his senior years, after being with me almost 24/7 all his life, I had left instructions for him to be PTS within hours of my passing. He would have been miserable, raised holy- havoc without me, more than likely hurt somebody. He was a great dog, but he was MY dog and MY dog ONLY, reputedly very difficult to manage when I wasn't around for anyone but a very experienced trainer/handler who knew how to bring him up out of his funk and stay off his bad side. The longer I was gone the worse he behaved, too!
I miss him terribly even 6.5 yrs after his passing.

I hear ya Shelley.  The two dogs that I lost in a month this year would probably have been ok. The two I still have, ah, not so good , particularly my female. But I have made arrangements that if, God forbid, something happened to me, they all have homes (even the supid cats). My best friend of 31 years has willed me her farm, so that all the critters would be able to stay where they are (horses, dogs, pig....). I guess only "animal" people would understand that!
