My name is Nikie, I have 6 wl gsds, 2 males, 1 spayed female and 3 bitches, I have one 1/2wl 1/2 sl girl (bitch just so dsnt fit her) her name is Nala. Nala is a uber feminine bitch I call her my pocket shepherd. She is the constant inside dog while the others get rotated. I'm training Nala now to start competing in agility, tracking and ob. I tossed around the idea of herding with her because she is very quick, graceful and seems to have a natural inclination to herd things wether it is the other dogs, or the toddler. But I know less about herding than I do showing and she REALLY enjoys doing agility, maybe instead of herding I'll let her give flyball a chance. Who knows but she is def my fun dog! I had always been one of the wl people that had nothing really nice to say about sl, I had never spent much time around any and just went with the stereo type. I have discovered since we got Nala, that there is nothing wrong with the sl gsds. At my own risk I would say that after owning Nala I can't imagine not having one. I will probably always have a wl gsd, but in the future I can't say that the majority of my guys will be wl. The sl guys can do the work and so much nicer to have in the house, and that personality is so adorable!

Donnerstorm,
There a quite a few members of our training club who own both WL's and SL's. They train both and most are titled in one venue or another. I've got into the habit of asking them if they find any big differences between the 2 and most have said not as far as training goes. The exception is a very big, hulk of a male, avery well-bred black sable WL, that just earned a SchI. He has got to the the most beautiful dog I have ever seen, but what a handful!
A good dog is a good dog I think.

My name is Maris and I own 2 West German Showlines.

I own VP2 Instigator Vom Haus Huro HIC, CGC
Here is my favorite head shot and stack of him, even if he is out of coat

He is my first Showline and he has me hooked. He is my second competition dog, my first being my learning dog a pitbull. She is currently working towards her SchH A since her tracking leaves much to be desired. Havoc as I call him has been truely a blessing to have. I feel really lucky to have a dog like this. He has been a real joy to work with his great biddability and desire to please.
Havoc is entered this year in the 12-18 males class at NASS. I am so excited to see meet new people, see some great dogs and find out where Havoc places.
Havoc is worked in Schutzhund, and will also be worked in Agility and more Herding as he ages. We have a lot ahead of us and I am so excited to have him as a partner. He has taught me so much in the 15 months he has been here and I can't thank him enough for it.

My second showline is Karma Vom Haus Huro

She definitely keeps me on my toes right now. Discoe Vom Haus Huro is actually one of the big reasons I chose a female out of the same dam, when I saw it was out of Gittano I couldn't resist. I couldn't be happier with my choice in this dog. Absolutely nothing fazes her. She oozes confidence and is such a treat to be around. She is quite the little diva and is showing fantastic working ability. She has been truely a joy to work with in the short time I've had her. She will be getting her first show rating at NASS this year in the 3-6 month females class.
I also own the pitbull like I said above, her name is Nina. She earned her BH under judge Johannes Grewe at 2 years old a year after I adopted her. She also has earned her TDI, CGC, and TT. I own a white German Shepherd and a Silver sable German Shepherd that are just fun family companions who are enjoying training in Dock Diving and agility.
My silver sable Loki has his CGC, TDI, and TT.
