I absolutely disagree.  In the absence of a traumatic injury, a properly socialized, temperamentally stable dog should see going to the vet as more or less the same as any other adventure in which he gets to be out and about and amongst new people.   Muzzling a dog causes stress and by doing so you create the situation in which the dog is uncomfortable and fearful going to the vet, a sort of self-fulfilling prophesy, if you will.  If you can't trust your dog to maintain his composure while the vet checks his face, ears, eyes, teeth and head, what chance do you have of him not biting the judge when it comes time to check his dentition?  For that matter, how does a vet even check the teeth of a muzzled dog?
