Anyone have experiance with Metro Air Force Commander or Metro Air Force Blaster Dryers ?  If so could you please share your experiance with them ?  Im looking into buying a professional dog dryer for my 2 GSDs.  Any thoughts or reviews of any dog dryers would be appreciated.  Thanks

Most commercial dryers are very good. I personally like them to have two speeds and you might want to make sure the product you are considering produces heat. Some just blow air at whatever the ambient temperature is. The Metro is a good product.

Good dryers are not cheap and if you don't need to dry a dog more than once or twice a year (and one should not be bathing a dog more than this unless for special reasons like showing), it is a lot of money to spend and you probably ought to consider saving your money and just using a hair dryer if necessary, or put the dog in a warm area to dry naturally.

Or taking him to Petco where he'll try to eat the dryer!

I LOVE the Metro Airforce Dryers.  I use mine almost daily in the winter.  My dogs are all weather dogs and spend alot of time out in the mud and rain.  Everynight before they go to bed I will use the dryer on them to either dry them before I bring them in or to blow the mud off.
They also work great to keep the hair in the house to a minimum.  I use it outside on them when they are dry and it removes all the loose hair and dirt..  A must to use outside.

Your saying a dog other than a show dog should not be bathed more than once or twice a year?

Kim I 100% agree with you--retired groomer here and I think Metro is one the best dryers made.  I use a little one that has 2 speeds--the one that looks like Snoopy's doghouse--I bought it from someone for $15 and it has all the force I need to blow out loose hair or dry after a bath or dry mud so it is easy to brush off.  I would never use a human dryer on a dog because it doesn't have enough force and it is way too hot--even on low heat.
PL I show my girl and the only time I bathe her is when she stinks.  Other than that I just use a spray bottle and blow her out to fluff her hair up.  Also the day before a show I clean her ears and her feet if she has been in mud.  The morning of the show I do her face and eyes and run a rag over her teeth.

vonissk- The Metro is a good forced air dryer.

We have show GSD's as well as PP GSDs, they get bathed every 6-8 weeks, based on my wifes experience as a recognized International Certified Master Groomer.

Pretty impressive credentials.  Afraid I learned from old groomers and have no certifications and all that.  But I groomed almost 25 yrs.  and I have a good rep in the field.  I think I am a good groomer or was before I retired.
I just don't believe in washing shepherds too much because it tends to dry the oils out of their coat.  Mine always look nice, have a nice shine to their coat because they get a good diet--they don't roll in stuff because anytime they are out of the yard, truck or house they are on a leash.  But that's just me--everybody is different.  What works for you may not work for me.................I see dogs at the shows that certainly need a bath and I see others that even tho they are bathed and foo fooed out I'd be shamed to have them on the end of my lead.........

Thanks for the replys.  I have used these pro dryers before and they blew off so much dead & loose hair.  I have a Police K9 who has to be bathed more than the average dog due to some of the environments hes subjected too, however, Im looking to use this more for reducing hair inside the house.  It sounds like Metro is the brand to go with.  Thanks again for the input.
