I wonder what he would say about MANY of these Threads -- he is probably rolling over in his grave -- and not just because of Larger than Standard GSD's...............

Yeah, I am sure he would be proud of the many self proclaimed trainers, owners and breeders and what they are bragging about and what this breed had become....

My 2 cents on the subject is  If a family can't handle a working line German shepherd ( which is CLEARLY DESCRIBERS in the breed standard) That that family has no business owning one! period  !
Max may have created a very versatile breed but his mane goal was not family pet! Can GSD's be a family pet absolutely in the right FAMILY ! So altering this breed to suit family pet needs IS a detriment to the breed, There are alot of other breeds designed for that purpose alone that are just as attractive as the GSD with out the drives necessary to MAKE it a GSD.
