No but we have novels written about a bunch of nonsense does that count?

by richierichm on 03 August 2010 - 01:08

If you don't care what people think why are you posting here? And as for the dog of yours on the left, the one you use in your ads, it is absolutely unspeakable. This is NOT a GSD. It looks more like a cow than a dog. You say your dogs are a version of what YOU THINK the GSD used to be - they were not huge or "laidback" - they were dogs of medium size with strong working drives. It's a free country so you can breed what you want but don't expect to put this in people's faces - asking differences in opinion - and then blast people who don't agree with you or praise you.

Don't waste your time stirring the cauldron. No one is going to eat your Tongue-of Bat -Eye-of Newt stew around here.

My apologies to the board, I'm not myself today and don't like to get involved in flaming and insults.

Dianne can you please Cite where you found this information, I would also like some one to come out and list where I can read this book - for some reason no one has it all compiled in one place , they are only using the bits and peices to make themselves look better.. Also it says nothing about the size of the dogs in the information you sited, only that younger people where being intoxicated by the looks of a dog- yet it was not even one that would be held to a higher standard.

It is all in one place: Von Stephanitz book, The German Shepherd in Word and Picture. Lord, I don't even own the breed and I've read and reread it.  I would hope ALL people who call themselves breeders would have! When you read it, you will find he STRONGLY warns against oversized dogs, or dogs which are in any way "not medium".  WHy? Because he understood what it took to be a working dog.

It is sad that you think I quoted V. Stephanitz warning to "make themselves look better".  I think if you read and comprehend his book you will see that anyone deeply interested in preserving working dogs will understand the brilliance of this man and his vision. He is well worth quoting.

BTW, your Ms. Shaw should be a little more accurate in her information.  The Belgian Malinois was not named after the city of "Malinois" but rather the city of Malines.

I wonder what Von Stephanitz would have to say about this thread?
