Did all of them find a home?

My friend is trying to work something out with one male. He is talking to Steph. I think Steph got banned, so I don't think she can update this? I don't really know......

My neighbor owns three of these dogs, they purchased two sisters and then about nine months later a male. The sisters used to get into fights sometimes with eachother, sometimes bad. They are all spayed and neutered but the girls still argued, but the owners dealt with it accordingly and now at about three years old they all get along famously, they are extremely gentle with their two young children ages 6 and 3. They have had them properly trained and socialized and the kids can walk them with their father of course, down our street through the gauntlet of barking dogs at the fences and those dogs tiptoe next to the kids, the six year old insists on holding the male herself and they let her only because he is literally perfect for her, stops and sits when she stops and walks at her same pace. Once when they were younger the girls were fighting and my husband went over the fence to get them to stop as the wife was unable to do it herself and they stopped and no one even barked at him, not even the male. So in my experience in the right hands they can be very good dogs, but this is an experiened family that previously owned three rottweilers until old age took them all. They have spent a lot of money and time training and it's paid off for them. I think they were stupid getting littermates but lucky for them they eventually stopped fighting. Just my two cents :) Hope all of these pups find a great experienced home.

Yes Boerboels are big powerful dogs and like any big dog they need to be managed. South Africa is nowhere nearly as backward as some people mentioned and I can assure you that no dog that kills a person is tolerated here. Be that in a rural or a suburban part of the country.

Ok, Six13. I can assure you that many things happen there (and in other places)  that people with regular access to internet forums know nothing about.  I love how people think that if they don't see something, it doesn't happen. We'll leave it at that.

I also would bet that these dogs are nowhere near the caliber of the ones I've heard about via my friends who lived amongst them in places where phones and computers don't work and trespassers are often killed.

Absolute rubbish! There are very few places in South Africa where there is no access to Internet. granted there is a vast majority that don't have access to the Internet but I can assure you that these are people and they will not accept any dog killing a person.

Rather comment on a country if you have first hand experience. I think you will be pleasantly surprised if you every came to South Africa and see for yourself that it is more first world than you would ever imagine.

@Siantha, the point I'm making is that SA is not as backwards as Jenni seems to think and people don't just set dogs on people and get away with it.

The big cities in SA are on par with most cities in the world and we have arguably the most technologically advanced banking systems in the world ( I work in the IT industry and have worked in many countries in the world and know this for a fact)

Yes, we have issues in this country and I am not denying this, just think that people who comment on places they have no first hand experience of is wrong.

Anyway this is way off topic and I hope they find homes for these dogs.

Six, you don't seem to understand what I'm saying at all. Who says it's even South Africa? Are there no Boerboels anywhere else? Thinking

I haven't been there, myself, as these places are far too dangerous and I have a little boy to worry about. However, my good friend spends probably half the year all over Africa doing research, and has done so for over 20 years. There is no running water, no electricity, etc. in the remote places he goes. I think you might be quite shocked at his stories and photos if you choose to believe that all the world is civilized.
