"EMERGENCY--- via Melissa Winsor Simone ~~
I am trying to help 6 pure breed GSD puppies that are a day old that were dropped at a shelter without a mom. Do you know any GSD enthusists that may have a throw a way lactating mom, OR are willing to try bottle feeding?"

and I will find out if they could even survive the trip...

Melissa, the mom still doesnt want to nurse the pups?

They're eating mush now, so not as bad. She just had a spell where she really didn't want to be with them... dunno why. I can
tell she doesn't enjoy being a mom, but she's taking care of them at least, with supplemental feedings of course. They were
stealing her kibble the other night (just sprouted teeth like yesterday) so I gave them a pan of gruel, which they devoured and
painted each other with LOL.

I have no problem bottle feeding them either with one of my other very good moms doing clean up. While she probably won't
produce milk, she would mother any puppy she could find, which would leave me with feeding.

I just want to make sure that if we did go fourth with this, that the risk would be fairly low for bringing parvo in.

They would probably do ok on the trip if someone were willing to bottle feed them on the way and kept them warm.

Let me know if there is any thing I can do.   Poor puppies......

I asked around and I was told that because the babies dont have moms immunity through nursing, they would have no immune system. They could get parvo or distemper, so its a no go :( Thank you so much for even considering it, Melissa!

How on earth could anyone drop off these babies??? Why not call a rescue who would kill to get 6 pure bred GSD pups? I dont get it, I just dont get it. This just shows a depraved indifference for life. Sometimes people really scare me :(

That is what I thought :( If someone can foster them for the incubation period of distemper and parvo and puppies test
clean, then I would be happy to take them.... I just worry about bugs coming in especially with little puppies here already.

I'm sorry :( I don't know how people can be so cruel. Makes me sick.

Melissa, that was a beautiful and generous offer you just made... If only there were more people in this world like the people on this forum, so many fur kids would live to see another day...How depressing.....
