This by far is the worst thread I've ever seen. Would love to string the bastard up who would do such a cruel thing.
Can't think straight right now. If there's anything possible I can do, please please let me know. I'm west of Chicago.
So distance sucks. Please keep updating. Lord help us.

Find a vet reproduction specilist and learn to tube feed.
Its much safer and quicker than bottle feeding.

Goat's milk is good for a supplement......but not replacer...........
Puppies who are fed 100% replacer need esbilac or another replacer.
Puppies on 100% Goats' milk, even with egg and sugar......tend to develope early cataracts. (see leerburg.com).

What the hell is wrong with people? I just cannot understand why someone would do such a thing, unless the mama died.

My friend hasnt heard back from them..If they were there, they would no longer be alive..

Trixx, thank you for the offer- there are so many GOOD people here... If I can get any answers, I will  post them.

A good friend of mine is a vet and will be able to help me any way he can.

so sad

Sounds like, in addition to having a network for rescue dogs....we also need a network for rescued puppies of a very young age.

I currently don't have the facilities to take on a mother with her pups, nor do I have the facilities to manage a litter of puppies older than 6 weeks old (depending on size/number of pups, if they're mastiffs then 5 weeks is my cut-off, if they're chihuahuas then I could probably keep them til 8 weeks)

however, like I mentioned previously, I am available to bottle/tube feed puppies until they are out of the woods and able to eat mush.

I haven't done so yet, but I should get a pump and some sterile containers for collecting and freezing colostrum to keep on hand...good idea for anyone else here too (who has access to whelping/nursing dams.)

I'm moving to Mt. Vernon, Ohio in a few months and planning to build a whelping kennel, so perhaps next year I'll be able to foster a dam with pups too.
