agree with joan, when we are talking drugs and explosives, I would take the best dog for the job, not the most cuddly one

touchiness 😉 I would say if you taught about it there are plenty of clowns looking after the American people's safety and well-being 😂😂. Same as in any country .
But back to the dog's you honestly think gs is the be all and end all of scuirty in your Homeland .if so you have lived a very sheltered life my friend no offense . floppy eared dogs have been used all over the world with great achievements .I think the problem here is people are German Shepard lovers and can't see past there nose . I still believe if a GS is doing his job leave him at it . If other breeds are doing a good job let them all dogs will surprise you with there abilities

The best dog for the job can also be cuddly . But no the public should not get a say because of looks. Gsd are versatile but not the best at any one thing that is what makes the a super dog 😉

bladeedge, its not a matter of quality only,I sold some good labs and pointers as well, but when you need 400 dogs per year and say you will only buy huntingbreeds, you will definately have a problem to meet numbers

if you want a 1000 good detectors, any breed, it is possible without a problem

Duke it looks to me out of all the breed's they are only taking out the GS so it leaves a lot of range still including mixed breeds. I really do not see the problem other than the reason why this change is happening there is a number of breeds out the that are we'll capable of this job I have worked with many over the years .

didnt know GSD was only pointy eared breed,, so as of today, mali, dutchy and mixes are looked at as floppy eared breeds LOL

I was talking about GS as was other people on this point not . I'm sure you know what Mali and dutchy look like 😉 . Probably shouldn't take what you have to say on this point as gold I'd say you have to much to lose to be impartial. Lol

Well I take it you supply a lot of pointy ear dogs but doesn't matter this is not what it about . It's about the right dog for the right job and who gets to make the decision to pull dogs because of its looks . I went a little off track on my last post apologize
