I like her, Xeph. Will talk to you more at the NS. We will make plans to meet there -PM me.

Thanks, hexe :) The only thing I'm not digging is all of her bleed through (I conceded a few months ago that she is indeed a B&T). I mean, she's obviously still VERY dark, but the bleed through annoys me, lol

Does she have any toemarks? I'm not so sure she isn't a bicolor, still!
Also, the bleedthrough on a coat-blowing bicolor is not at all unusual, in my experience. Or in any coat-blowing bitch, in fact. It will come back in shiny black in those areas, never fear!

She has toe marks. Always has :)

Then why do you not consider her a bicolor?

What Christine said. I've never seen a B&T have the 'tar heels', and she definitely has them, too. I vote that she IS a bi-color.

by Xeph on 07 September 2013 - 13:09
Because she has tan on the underside of her tail, her pants are tan, she has cheek spots, she has a bleed through "cap" on her head, and she has chest spots. People are telling me that is a black and tan, and not a "true" bi color.
Unlike your Coal, Christine who has a solid black tail, darker inner thighs, no chest spots, and a solid black face.
Here's an AmLine male I know personally who is definitely a bi color

Now I need to go look at Coal's tail.... But I think there are a few light guard hairs on the underside.
I think your girl is going to be significantly darker again after she gets her coat back.

I am very familiar with ASL and I happen to agree with GSDNewbie. If everyone commented on the positive and no one commented on the negative, then opinions would be biased. I would agree that it would be nicer to see more muscle, she seems a bit light to me. I do think she has a very nice topline though. I do not care for her ear set. I personally like to see ears closer set together. But that's my own pet peeve.
Asking what others think then pouncing on them saying they don't know any better is poor sportsmanship imo. We all like what we like. Take the good with the bad. I've had ASL in the past but prefer German line dogs now. Doesn't make me less knowledgeable just another forum member with a difference of opinion.
Congrats that your doing well with her. Hopefully we will see her doing some obedience/tracking or ? once she completes her CH.
