Uh, not sure what has bit you on your backside, but you are going way off with this for some reason. I am just having a forum conversation in an OT forum of a dog site.
Seek some professional help for some of those demons that have not been given a voice?
God bless the vets. Suicide is a mortal sin. And no one said anything about "having a good time". If you weren't being so emotional you would have read "freedom", as in personal freedom and an unwillingness to give up certain vices.
That is sometimes what a clean, free bed costs. Why don't so many of them, not keep the nine to five job someone went out of their way to get for them? There are constraints they can't or won't accept, is all I am saying. They have to want the cure. It hasn't a thing to do with what my soul or heart looks like, just because I am saying it without the liberal view of rose colored glasses and a spoonful of sugar to make it all go down. Of course the homeless are an issue, and some will be helped and some will refuse help. Simple as that.

That is surely part of the problem I am referring to. The stats regardless of the source all more or less agree on the scale of the problem, certainly not just a US problem for sure.
The vets have to fight two wars evidently, only one they volunteered for.
The facts reveal the disparity between the syrupy rhetoric of thanks for your service and the too often, too real, fuk you for your service.
Bee empathy and true honour toward our vets is what bit me, you should try it you callous person.

I always test off the charts with empathy and emotional intelligence. I am not worried about that and certainly not callous because I have a different perspective than yours, that is not bleeding heart and crying at this moment. Clearly, I can tell there is a personal and emotional component that is giving rise to your inability to express yourself without foul language and the diversions of personal and negative aspirations flung onto myself, by you.
I will pray for some peace for you and your demons. Happy Easter!

Yet god causes an easter miracle in a sydney church where an old lady instead of leaving the car park after church she gets the wrong gear and drives straight through the front wall injuring 5.
The parishoners are claiming a miracle nobody got killed.
Da Lawd moves in mysterious ways, kills dozens in Pakistan, only injures a few in Sydney after making old lady drive into church.

When/if you ever do, then I'll converse with you.

Yr god is a dickhead, let's dozens of worshippers get blown up but suspends the laws of science and causes miracle when 70 yo lady exits church car park and drives thru her own church front door. All on the same day, same religion, same god.
Just think about that and tell me believers are not mental.

is a very inconsistent god" and therefore a pretty irrational
thing to believe & have faith in ...
Can we just go back to homeless people (military veterans
and others) a minute ?
As somebody who has actually worked in the 'homelessness
sector', I'd like to get one or two things straightened out here:
There IS a proportion of homeless people for whom sleeping
out rough is a 'choice' - in that it is a life with less responsibility,
when you do not manage money well, find it hard to hold down
jobs, is in some ways more conducive to maintaining drug and
alcohol habits than is a "normal" life, if such can be described
as a "choice" rather than something one is pushed into by other
factors* - but, worldwide, that proportion of homeless people is
TINY compared with those who may not stay homeless for long
because they DO want to be resettled. Doesn't make it any more
pleasant for them while it is happening ! The trouble is that the
wider society always likes to major on that small number as some
illustration of why we/society/they do not need to do more about
how many homeless people there are. So convenient.
*"Other factors" include huge failures in social support and spending;
countries that would rather spend money on missiles & warplanes, or
as I like to call it, a "banquets and bombers" attitude, than on helping people to help themselves ...
