Charity, Sorry if you thought I was being unkind. Not my intention.
I only show no patience for those that practice a serious lack
of ethics, are known liars and thieves etc or deadbeats
Is there a way you can attend a schutzhund club on your own?
It's too bad your significant other has no interest in the sport.
I know of many K9 handlers that are urged by their superiors to
do AKC obedience etc with their K9's outside of daily police work.
Perhaps if you point out to your boyfriend that the Police Dog trials
are essentially a 'sport' too?
As far as sharing ideas etc, it's always good to do so, even if you are a
'novice', many times even the 'old dogs' can take that idea and modify it
to suit their needs
That's what training is about, using the method
that works best for that particular dog. I'd suggest a visit to a local SchH
club with just you and your dog, no reason you can't go on your own.
You don't have to like and participate in every hobby he has, nor does he you.
I personally don't like agility, (too much running for this old dog), but the wife
enjoys it with her dog, so off she goes a few times a week! That's in addition
to all the other things she does on her own, with or without her dog. You
don't have to be joined at the hip with him when it comes to dog training

Thank you for your kindness Workingdogz.
I agree totally with your views in your first paragraph. I have no time for people like that.
"no reason you can't go on your own."
lol. If you only knew him!
He is very opinionated and thinks we must be joined at the hip for any activities outside of our professions. I've actually given up 2 good jobs that he did not agree with. BTW I'm a Medical Technologist not a pole dancer (or whatever they're called)!!!
Anyway, I am actually thinking about "cutting the cord" and going off on my own. I feel that I've wasted the last 12 years in more ways than one.
I appreciate all your advice and agree about agility....if I try it they better have EMS standing by!!
I am sort of equal distance (about an hour) from Wilmothaus and Buffalo so I will start with those 2 places. Not sure if Kathy and Tim have a club but they might be a good resource for training and advice. I think there are 2 or more training clubs in the Buffalo area so if anyone has input on any of these places you can pm me.
I will appreciate any guidance.
Thanks in advance everyone and sorry for airing the dirty laundry.

I won't delve into the status of your personal relationship,
that's not my field of expertise.
Definately look up the Wilmoths, I am pretty sure they
train with the Scarberry's though at their club.

By the way, even though I don't participate in agility, I still go
watch when she has a match

Hey, Dogz, you are emancipated!
Out of topic, but I wouldn´t give up a good job for a man...
Have fun with your dog!
