Are you serious, or are you kidding me?
As far as I know the "discussion" is about "sportism" and "permanent default" - I tried to explain that in case you train accordingly when switching from "sport" to "real work", and you do have a dog with the necessary traits, there will be no problems - the "proof" are thousands of police dogs worlwide doing their job, most of them raised and trained in sport homes.
To tell people that as a result of former sport training all of these dogs have "permanent default" of whatever is not true.

Some facts / observations:
1, Alpine K9 are a respected working training kennel, and have a lot of respect within that fraternity.
2, Susie - opinions are like belly buttons, every one has one, and knowing you can not back up anything you say with ANY credible proof of your own civil training - best to give it a rest. Oh and let me clarify - a well trained and well bred dog will protect for real in any environment, and will also be a pleasure off lead around people in general and other dogs. (I include both sport and non sport foundation dogs)
3, GSDFan - unlike Susie has shown some excellent training and capable dogs.
(The operative word Susie - being Shown)
Though I acknowledge a lot of what is being argued is because Hans is thinking out the box - I am sure most of us will agree, including Hans - there is more than one way to skin a cat.
Key board warriors - here is a thought, rather than hammering away at your keyboard, why not simply show us your own pride and joy - doing the business re focusing on the man AND not the equipment?(Open to all disciplines, formal and informal, titled and untitled)

Gee

I tended to train, not to take videos, nothing to sell - once again, sorry, my fault...I really should have known better...
"- opinions are like belly buttons, every one has one,..." -
I do have a belly bottom, I do have an opinion, and I guess I do have a lot of experience, but for sure you don´t need to listen to me.
You could try to refute the statements I made ( for your record: these are personal experiences and observations I made when I "retrained" former IPO "sport" dogs, during that time called SchH dogs, for the "export" = PP and police dog prospects, made this for quite some time in Germany, than later on for a while in Sunny California - was a great time, I learned a lot, and I had a lot of fun...), but instead of trying to refute me you are trying to question and ridicule me - that´s low...
