got 4 about 2 years ago, lost 2 just last month...(not Chaos's fault, but his human siblings). Chaos plays with them daily (tug and retrieve) and they are in a great shape. The weight and size is perfect for me to throw far. I also tried the smaller ones (both the hollow and solid), 2 1/3, but those felt too small for his mouth and I couldn't never throw them as far as the larger ones. The hollow one would not float either.

I have tried several other ones from Halmark/All K-9...these are by far my favorite and the only ones I have after 3 years. 

I like the balls that sink....good to see the dogs with the drive to retrieve under water, especially when they must locate them in flowing water when the ball sinks to the bottom of the creek. To me, a ball that floats is cheating and doesn't test the dog.

i don't expect any ball, or any dog equipment to last for years, i throw stuff out on a regular basis.
