Thank you, Ibrahim and Hundmutter.  As for the pictures, I really have no idea how to upload to here, and it told me to resize them and I did (the first set of photos) BUT they look normal to me.  My dog doesnt look distorted in real life - I dont see what you guys are seeing I guess.  I do agree, the way the picture is taken is not the best, as I stated I dont have any help stacking - so at the moment thats as good as I can do - but we've been improving.  Hutchins, thanks for the advice - I was sitting on the ground (i tried to be level with the dog but I may have been off) Will try again and will try to be level with the dogs back to see if it makes any improvement. Also Hundmutter, here's his height - he's about 24.5 inches at the withers and around 28-30inches in length from chest to base of tail. I dont know if that makes him not proportioned correctly, but maybe that helps. Also, I agree - he has a ridiculously long tail.  Don't want a heavy dog - he's active and I keep him lean.  Is 69 pounds too heavy for a 13 month old male? I can feel his ribs/spine, and (although you cant tell because of his fur) he has a nice tuck.  No flab. He's been fluctuating between 68-74 pounds since March/April.

Body length of a GSD should be longer than his height, maximum by 117% (10 to 8.5)
Therefor if his length is 28 inches, then his length is 114% his height  (10 to 8.75) which is ideal.
If his length is 30 inches, then his length is 122% his height ( 10 to 8.2) and in this case he's more than slightly stretched.

KD  I don't think he is too heavy YET,  but the difference between
his current weight and your original estimate made me think he
might have increased fairly quickly as he's been growing;  and you
are right, it is harder  to tell by looking when they are long coated.
Which means it is also hard to tell visually if they put on a bit too
much more, any time !  LOL.  It sounds as if you do keep an eye
on it, great.  He is still quite young at 13 months so may well 'fill
out' some more, and at 35 kilos he is not under weight, so you just
have to be careful.

He's really attractive, whether or not all his 'bits & pieces' are perfect!

I think greyhoundgirl was perhaps a bit harsh about him being 'so out
of proportion'  Wink Smile   Ibrahim's measurements are a good way to look
at it;  depends of course on what she, you or anyone else is looking
for in terms of proportions, everyone knows the Standard can be inter-
preted in different ways,  tee-hee !
