I would venture to guess 70% ish don't even attend church. A lot of them are just drunk big mouths who know nothing but know all.

Thanks for that insight on how you really feel. Presumably, I think you must be thinking (mostly) about Catholics, because for instance, the Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses won't imbibe at all, as a matter of their choosen Christian course.

Lying is an admission of failure. A so-called personal attack might simply be a statement of fact. Or are you some PC activist who is upset at what you perceive as "liar-shaming?"

@hundmutter, the reason why you see atheists who actually know more about religion and the Bible than believers is that many atheists were once believers. Some were even quite devout. Their disbelief didn't come without a good deal of reflection.

@noitsyou, oh that is so true of many people I have spoken to over the years. But don't expect Hans to believe it, any more than he will believe I have had similar conversations with other people, non-atheists, too ! Little does he know that I have lived and worked in such multi-cultural, multi ethnic, environments, with people of entirely varied beliefs and none, that I am entirely confident in what I say on here. Just cos he presumably never speaks with or listens to anyone outside his own little lifestyle does not mean others of us cannot do so. As to him thinking that I am agreeing with him when I said "Don't tell me, tell them", not so; I merely relish the idea of someone with such narrow views actually seeking out, and discussing with, those liberal Muslim women whose view of Sharia law I referred to. He MIGHT learn something new. LOL.

@ Hans: MORE atheists, met over a lifetime of meeting and talking with all sorts of people, is NOT the same as 'surrounding' oneself with nothing BUT atheists, at any one given time. Duh !!!
