I use 1% injectible cattle ivermectin and have a formula I use for dosing (I setup this formula with a chemistry professor).  1% is difficult to dose for small dogs (for smaller dogs use propylene glycol to dilute and dose) but all mine are 65-75lbs now.  Generally my 65-75lbs dogs are getting about 1/4 CC 1% ivermectin.  The ivermectin I use is about $35 for a bottle and it expires after 1 year but contains more than enough for all my dogs all year but I have less than 5 dogs not 20+.  I still test all my dogs for HW every spring.

VKGSDs, my bottle doesn't expire for three years.

I could be wrong about when I got it, I thought it was last year but I honestly don't remember.  Either way it's still a huge savings over buying tablets from a vet for 3+ dogs.

Is it safe for pregnant or lactating females?

I have no idea, no females here.  If Heartgard is, then yes.  It's the same active ingredient.

richram, I didn't do the liquid when my female was pregnant, but she had the heartgard pills themselves when she was..... But now my whole pack gets ivermectin. I do this roughly every 40 days.

You can get 100 large dog (50-100 lbs) doses for $90.  No measuring, no liquid for them to spit, etc.  Not sure Petoasis can get it from here though as I think I recall she is in Australia.
