Can the WL folks on this forum give an honest evaluation on the ped of this pup:

Positives and Potential problem areas. I have heard quite a bit about Logan

Thanks in advance

In terms of potential negatives, hips, possible reactivity, low thresholds, but I don't know the parents well enough to say. The parents are far more idicative of what you'll get than anything further back. Not a breeding I would choose for myself, but it totally depends on your goals and purpose. I always look at "would this be a good breeding dog?" and I know there are many, many other uses for a dog where all the genetics behind them don't matter as much as what they are, personally.

jENNI CAN YOU EXPLAIN FURTHER?

why hips"

why reactivity and low thresholds?

why you would not choose this for yourself?

The ped seems to be welllittered with BSP, WUSV, and LGA competitors.

"I have heard quite a bit about Logan."

From whom? The source of what's heard has significant bearing on the accuracy of what's heard.

IMO, it's never a good sign when a kennel or breeder puts a link on their facebook page for their website, but when you follow that link it turns out their domain name has expired.

No records of any kind in OFA's database for Raza vom Wahren Blut or her sire, Jake L. Gillen, so not sure how Raza comes to be shown as DM N/N nor how her sire is listed as having a Good hip rating. Her dam, Xena vom Spartenville, does have hip and elbow ratings in OFA, but no DM rating is shown; likewise for Logan for hips & elbows, but again nothing re a DM rating. Granted that I don't have much faith in the DM test itself, so it's not a big deal to me if the animals haven't been tested and rated, but I don't care for people claiming a test status that an animal doesn't actually have---so were I looking at this breeding, I'd need to see the original OFA certificates for these animals before I'd believe any of them had a DM rating.

Hexe, OFA is not the only game in town for DM testing. Only one of my DM (I cannot even call it that, so let's call it SOD1) dogs has been tested through OFA.

Otherwise, to answer you, Mithuna, I'll say "pretty much what Hexe said."

I am not going to discuss particular dogs and their production (publicly) if I haven't held their leashes myself, but besides the obvious things- the generations of untitled, untested dogs, I stand by what I said in my first post. There are some red flags for health as well as temperament, to me, anyway. Again, what I might call too reactive and too low threshold or even nervy might be something you don't mind. Dog breeding is a very subjective art.

Logan is DM tested not throw OFA, Raza is the same. If you have any question about my dogs contact me, and you get the true.

DM test done throw Animal Genetics, all you have to do is ask me I'll you the true. Strong nerves, clear head

vom wahren blut, were I the person presently interested in a dog or pup from your breeding, I most certainly WOULD ask you those things directly, when that information wasn't found in the OFA database.

The OP, however, posted here to ask for, as the title says, "HONEST OPINION OF THIS PEDIGREE", and that is what he received.

Since you're here, though, what's the story on the lack of hip and/or elbow ratings for Raza, and for her sire Jake, in OFA? Were they rated through some other organization for those as well? True, Raza's pedigree doesn't show any hip or elbow rating at all, but as a conscientious breeder you'd surely not breed a dog or bitch that hadn't had their hips certified at the very least. Then Jake J. Gillen is shown as having been rated 'Good' for hips, which left me to wonder which entity gave that rating, if not OFA?

Hope you have a pleasant holiday weekened.
