Is our Generation too Cynical?

Born as Vietnam was finished, but everyone still sensitive, grew up during the fall of the SNLs (watched our parents panic), came into adulthood during the high of the 90's (nothing can stop us, we have it all), felt the fall of the Towers and our lives of the 90's (as our children watched us panic).

Born when Rock and Roll really started, grew up when our parents started figuring out that drugs were bad and they could laugh without them, came into adulthood during the high of the 90's (nothing can stop us, we have it all), watch our nation give the bad guys the figure for as long as we could, survived and learned to be humble when everything we worked for was lost, watched neighbors going back to taking care of each other, instead of trying to keep up with the Jones'.

What happened to just being happy to be alive? Being grateful for the little things like a child's smile or a dog's laugh (yes they do laugh)? The world is hard, but we do not need to be. We need to learn to be grateful again for the little things. Not everyone is the bad guy and not everyone is out to take advantage of us.

Rock n roll not dead.   I still listen to LZ, ZZ Top, AC/DC, Rolling Stones.... Got my 17 year old son hook on them too.

Response to the OP :

CAN we ever be "too" cynical ?   Nothing wrong with a bit of

healthy cynicism IMO.
