On this dogs second to last day, I drove 570 miles to go and get him. A really nice slow line male that was picked up and owner refused to go and get him. Cant wait to track his tattoo. He is really out of sorts and trying to be good so I thought I would wait to get out the clippers to shave his ear hair to read the tattoo. I'm sure this dog produced many a litter and its sad that age 10 he was thrown away like trash. He gets excited when he hears the kids next door. I feel bad for him. If anyone thinks they might know him from a pic, here it is. He was picked up in Castiac CA. He is really dark compared to the pic. His name is Sancho.

So glad you went and got him Bhaugh. This is the owners idea of a nice 'retirement' for him huh? He looks a nice boy, be interesting to see what his background is. Just hope he finds someone who will give him the retirement he really deserves, and hope the people that did this to him get what they truly deserve.

might be wrong, but he looks like a WGSL with some Ursus blood.
Poor old guy!
Thank you, Bhaugh !!!!!

great job picking him up, crap like that is so sad. One of my girls is a rescue, she was still producing milk when they threw her out

Yes, Thank You for doing this. It is all too easy to imagine,
as owner of a 10 yr old, how dreadful it would be to abandon
& not claim a dog like this one. Hope you get a good place
for him.

it looks like the tattoo is 17610 or it could be 77610. I went to the SV site to request info but my German is uh... non existent. Someone posted not that long ago about reading tattoos and I cant find it. Will the SV respond to me?

No German dog - all German tattoos start with 2 letters devided by " - " followed by 4 numbers, like " A-B 1234 "

Its hard to read even with a clipper shave. I thought Id do as was suggested and apply the Vit A oil to see if this works.
