RLHAR

Well, Erik just cleared 15 months and to my eyes boy has he changed in just 3 months from his year old pictures!

We were all out playing in the leaves and I thought I'd share and even elicit comments on how he's growing from a couple of his natural stacks?

The red collar on he and Hanni are the collars to the invisible fencing around our property.  Ever since Erik was taken back in July we've taken preventative measures to make sure our dogs don't step a toe off our property.

On to pictures!

Whatcha doing Daddy?

You're playing with her!!

I wanna play also!

Sibling squabble! (No they're not actually blood related.)

Why is Mom making us pose?  She does this every so often, shut up and smile.

Mom, do you have any idea how silly you look with that camera in your face?

Thank you, Desert Dog!   I don't like my dogs carrying extra weight and especially Erik since he's still growing into his frame.

I notice the dryness with little dry mud on the noses of your dogs, same happens with my dogs, I clean it with damp cloth and apply little olive oil two-three times a week, I found out it helps in keeping that skin alive and the dirt less catching to it.
Your dogs are very beautiful and full of life and happiness, enjoy them.

Ibrahim,

Yep, from now till next June it's mud season in the dog yard!  Thank you for the tip, I will definitely give it a shot here to help keep noses clean and in good nick.

Very nice photos, I did not know your Erik had been taken during the summer.
Always,

Cee,

Yes.  July 3rd I let him as well as my female outside to go potty and stretch his legs.  When I let him out he had on a leather collar with his name and my information stamped into it and a red e-fence collar.

When I went to bring the dogs in about noon and he was no where to be found.  Now he'd wriggled out from under the fence twice before but always following another dog (a neighbor's collie kept digging under our fence to get into the yard) out and then never going far.

Well we spent Saturday and Sunday scouring the neighborhood, asking if anyone had seen him, putting up fliers, checking the humane societies the whole kit and kaboodle.  He is chipped and we sent out an alert that way and I also put up pictures of him on PetFinders.

On Monday we got a call from a woman who had seen his picture on Petfinders and thought she had him.  Well we headed for her house immediately.  She lived twenty miles away, across three major highways, including an interstate.   When we got there it was him but he had neither collar on and I asked her when she'd found him.  She said she found him on her road around 11am on SATURDAY.

Now call me paranoid but how does a dog, who has never been out of his yard by himself, get twenty miles, across three major highways, all the while ditching two collars in under 3 hours?  He had help.  Someone in my neighborhood has complained about his barking and called animal services on our female when she got out once.  I don't know who has made the calls/complaints but I'm not taking any chances.

The dogs are always inside unless we're here and we locked down our fenced in yard with the e-fence to ensure they don't go near the fence line so they can be for a few hours at a time when it's nice out and they can play.

Your experience chills me to the bone.  That is why I never let Echo out that I don't go with her.  Either I or my husband accompany her regardless of the weather.  Very scary and so glad you got him back in one piece.  They are beautiful by the way.

Debi, Yes it was disturbing. About the only consolation was the fact that Erik was still carsick at the time so I imagine he barfed in their car.
