By joining this board, I agreed to abide by the TOS. Many times I have not. Now that the owner chooses to enforce his TOS, it is my choice to stay or go.

The TOS that I agreed to follow on joining, have not changed. Just that now, I will be required to follow them more closely if I choose to continue. And I do choose to continue.

I have not been following closely enough to know who boycotts. I do feel that one or two valuable sources of info were treated unfairly. Hopefully, this issue has been resolved. And if they choose not to share their knowledge further with us, then it is our loss as a community.

If others leave because they cannot follow the TOS they agreed to in joining, then why did they join in the first place. The TOS are there for all to see.

Understand that not every person knows exactly what happened and only the moderator and those individuals know for sure.

I will say this very clearly, if you put political posts or other posts the site owner does not want  on this forum and it is removed once that is all the warning needed. If you then put it back you open yourself up for further administrative actions.

Since this subject has been brought up. The moderator team welcomes your suggetions on making the TOS better or refining it. Constuctive suggestions welcome.

Thanks,
GSD

I don't think that people left because of the enforcement (finally) of the TOS.  It is my opinion that they left because the "first group" of Moderators were not enforcing the "rules" fairly -- very biased for and against certain individuals.

The "new" Mods appear (so far)  to be fair and reasonable.

I think Moderators should remain impersonal and fair to all members, this footing is as important as the TOS itself. The core value of this forum is the members with actual expertise and knowledge who can offer help and advice to the less experienced members and share their own knowledge amongst themselves. I hear that many valuable members left the forum long ago due to harassment from fellow members before the moderators came on board. So hopefully as the environment over here is getting healthier many of the absent old good members will rejoin us.

Civility should be the only rule needed......IMHO of course

Does the fur make me look fat?..............lol!!!!

I think moderators should not sign in and post with their original necknames as that will be double face which is not healthy, moreover when they have a discussion with another member on a thread under their original neckname and have a hard feeling thath might affect their fairness using their authorities as moderators. MO.

We welcome with open arms any old member who left and be assured we will work effortlessly to moderate this forum fairly and to the site owners wishes. When things are ready we will add more moderators as we anticipate higher usage and more posts.

If it appears unfair or unjust I want to hear about it in a pm. Understand when we take action not everyone is happy and so, the actioned party tends to want to say the moderation is bias or they have been treated unfairly and in most cases that is not true.

Yes any one with brains can see and understand that, it is the weak nature af a human to act so.

We want moderators to be able to share their opinions and we tend to agree, but we do not want moderators with their moderator user names to get sucked into heated debate. It is a double edged sword and one each moderator will have to balance.

Oli and myself are the only people who know the moderators original identities.  Moderators are not above the rules.

I tend to disagree civility is all that is needed and here is why, the site owner choses the direction of the forum and not the members. Oli tried to let the members do it themselves. It did not work and now he is taking a different approach.

Thanks for your comments and concerns.

Regards,
GSD
