These are 3 of 5 of the best guys I know that train
dogs, and are very good with people. They love
what they do and are respected in the dogsports
world.

Many people come here for the first time not knowing
much about the German Shepherd or other working
breeds. So I would say if you get a chance to meet
anyone of these guys take it. You won't be disappointed.

Wayne Simanovich I can tell you, will demystify much of what you
my have heard about schutzhund. I would say he has
an ease about him with full knowledge of what he is talking
about.

Les Flores is like Wayne , with alot of years in dogs and
was a California Policeman. He is a pleasure to talk to. He
knows who is good in this sport and who is shady. Les
well not disappoint you either. He knows and appreciates your
being new without much accurate information...

Phil Hoelcher is well like and respected for alot of reasons,
but most of all his passion and dedication...I think he has
something like 8 nationals under his belt and he still
competes.

The reason I am posting this thread is I saw an ad in
a cowboy- horse magazine with Wayne in it. This shot memories
of him in the 80's....I was very impressed with the ad layout,
it was very tastefully done....But it occurred to me people that
see that ad may not know what a great person Wayne is.
So here are 3 of my favorite people from the past.
Although I did not know Phil Hoslcher that well, what I did
know was all good...And not just me but alot of people feel
that way about him.

Max, as soon as I get my time machine, I'll bring you to the present. These are all great guys and would love to drink a beer with them, but you seem to be stuck in the past, Uncle Rico. Y

Don.....it's the only past I have.

I know the best dog trainers in Europe
so I am allowed to do that.

I will do a post of some promising people
that still have not made their bones but
could...I will PM you when I do that.

This post is to give new people some
direction. Not to really put any one in
the spot light....

For the last 4-5 years I have been watching
the new crop......no one is knocking my shocks off
yet. And trying to tell you about Jogi Zank a German
Hundsman would be over your head...Unless you
have competed at a world level or have spent 3/4 of
your life training dogs in Eruope. He is new, but promising.

I have heard of Les Flores. Correct me if I am wrong but I heard he trains around the Tacoma, Wa. area. And every thing I have heard about him has been nothing but good remarks. I would like to hook up with him sometime. Possibly he will show up in the tri-city area where most local k9s train.

I'm just harrassing you because you sound like my dad when I was a kid. He was constantly telling me how hockey players were better in his day. Well, ESPN Classic came out years later and I was able to watch his players. Sad is all I'm going to say. I think we have a tendancy of sensationalizing the past."The Glory Days". I think that there are more people interested in the "sport" today and the old cronies have more competition. It isn't like the sport was years ago, when the same players showed up and the results were the same. Schutzhund in the US was a small world years ago.

Everything Don... will try to learn for the next 20 years,
Les already knows....But Les is just an all round nice
person.

like to add?

Les is not in Tacoma. He lives about 50 miles south of Tacoma. I have had the pleasure and privilege to train with Les for the last several years. Max does not tell the half of it!! Les is is not only an excellent trainer and helper, knowledgeable and talented in the sport. He is also highly ethical, fair, and honest. Les is all about the sport and the dogs. He has one-tenth of the ego of those with a fraction of the talent or accomplishment. I have seen Les bend over backward to help selfish self-absorbed "competitors" prepare for big trials who not only never stoop to helping anyone else, but who have stabbed him in the back. Sometimes repeatedly. (That is not to say that he does not have his limit). Just good people-plain and simple.

Listen, Uncle Rico, I didn't say they were stuck in the past, I said YOU are stuck in the past. You seem to be somebody that likes to name-drop and make everyone think you're a pillar in the sport. Don't be bashful, Maxie.

Phil Hoelcher hands down the best dog trainer in the group, Wayne the best at marketing and making a $ with dogs
