Hi Sharon Are these litters you have bred or did Gundi and Natan have puppies before you got them? Margaret N-J

I have been reading and watching this forum for a few years now, and this is the first time I have spoken up. I always thought this was a place to glean infomation, not bash people because they don't have all the answers and make mistakes. Yes some of the mistakes are irresponsible, but I don't believe anyone of you out there started out knowing everything. If this isn't a place to get answers without being made to feel stupid, then where. Obviously not to the breeders that think to ask a question (that is not about training)is useless information. I am trying to learn everyday and this was one place that I have picked up great information, inspite of the ones that already know it all. I am not Sharon, but I know for a fact that these litters were born before Sharon owned (and took excellent care of) these two dogs. Sharon loved (one has since past away)& loves both of these dogs and was looking for progeny information. She is not an irresponsible breeder and is very selective of whom she sells her puppies to.

I appreciate all the comments and I will provide you all with more information. I purchased Gundi and Natan in May of 2006, from an importer so that I would be able to breed them and get bloodlines which I chose to base my kennel upon. Gundi came into heat shortly after I brought them home and I was not able to get them bred. I thought I was doing something wrong so I contacted the person whom I bought them from. Originally, when I purchased them I requested they be bred prior to me bringing them home because it would only be a very short time before Gundi would come into heat. Since the importer owned the dogs for such a long time I was concerned with the transition time and wanted what was best for the dogs, Gundi was imported 9-01 and Natan 3-04. I was told Gundi had 5 litters 3 by Natan, today I found out that since being purchased she had 8 litters, back to back with no break in between, I also found out Natan sired 15 litters. No wonder I have not been able to get Gundi pregnant or able to carry a litter since buying her. Natan was diagnosed with cancer of the spleen 8-06 and I was told simply to put him to sleep when I called the importer. I talked to this person and everything was made right with Natan and since her would not be able to sire a litter I asked if I could try to get him well and keep him for a pet and told that would be ok. In just a short time I grew to love both of these dogs. Natan was such a wonderful dog and we became inseperable. I was able to get to know more about Natan because I contacted the breeder and have become good friends with them. I lost Natan 1-9-07 and my heart still breaks for him! I was never able to get the breeding which I sought desperately for years after losing my first shepherd and was not sure I would find the bloodlines of my second shepherd. Well, Gundi and Natan each carried these bloodlines. I asked the importer to help me to locate progeny so that I might find someone that would either consider letting me breed their male to one of my females or to allow a female from these 2 wonderful dogs to be bred to my male in exchange for a pick of a litter puppy. I have been fortunate to be able to locate a few of Natan's progeny but none from Natan and Gundi. I was fortunate enough also today to locate Gundi's breeder in Germany and can now find out what her sire and dam look like. I have also been trying to locate 2 other dogs which came here from Germany, one is a female which was imported with Natan, her name is Odessa von der Arenzburg. The other is a male Earl vom Emkendorfer Park, this is Gundi's sire and when I talked to the breeder today I was told he was imported to the US and the last she knew he was in Ohio. Of course AKC cannot provide me with any detail information about any of these dogs. I was told I could send 2 letters to AKC and that they can try to forward them on to the registered owners and perhaps I will be able to get a response. This could possibly take a long time. I hope I have answered everyones questions they may have. I am a responsible breeder and have been breeding since 1998. I am breeding for the love of the dog and do it through the guidance of Natan's breeders in Germany since becoming close friends with them. They have been breeding for over 30 years successfully and are the recipients of the SV's Golden Breeders Award which is a very special award.

This reply is to Karla. I do not make deals with dogs! And if someone comes to look at my dogs or a puppy and my dogs don't like them they do not buy a dog or puppy. And as JaTee said, this is a place where you can acquire some good sound information and even learn new things. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
