I was just looking at the ads in the back of Dogs USA 2005 magazine and was taken away by the color of Sergio v Bad boll and Rapi Supra. I just wanted to ask those who have seen them in person if they are really that RED!
BTW: My girl won 3rd place in the puppy photo contest towards the back of the magazine! yay!

Rapi is for sure. I saw him in spring of 2003 in Colorado. Don't know if he stamps this on his progeny.

Yes GSDfan, both Supra and Sergio are black and red dogs, but no, they are not AS red as shown in the ad.
If you look at both of their photos here in the database, you get more of an idea of their actual color in these than from the ad.
And congrats on the photo of your girl.

the light of day at the time you take a picture makes a big difference as to the red tone. take a picture early in the morning say 8am or so in direct sunlight,then take one early in the evening in the shade and look at the difference in the same dog.the difference in the tone of red will surprise you.happy holidays to all.

Yes Anton, so true.....that fresh, early morning sun out of the East, puts a red glow on the dogs.

Yes, so true about when photos are taken. But the ad in the back of the Dogs USA 2005 is almost distorted. Look at the child in the picture. The colors are very wrong. Now look at the same ad in the back of the January DogWorld Magazine and you will be able to see the ad in almost correct color. The ad looks so much better in DogWorld.

hello GSDFAN -- well ... if you like RED GSD then if you haven't you must see in real life the VA dogs from Germany like Larus, Yasko , Ando etc. !! -- Spectacular and DEEP RICH RED .. .. no wonder the show dogs dazzle .. they are absolutely spectacular RED - and the DEEP BLACK to complement that RED !! just lost for words except spectacular !! AND yes many are that dep red that you see in pictures - great point about the light ,,, and also there are coat treatments of course that make a difference too e.g like hot oils .. especially for the shows]
